Test Lab - Experimental Integration Specialist I in GAC Savannah

  • SAP/ Solumina transaction experience consistent with Manufacturing Engineer I.
  • Highly proficient with Supply Chain Action Request (SCAR)
  • Material / Production Control - managing flow of materials through multiple shops (e.g. - suppliers and internal-backshops)
  • Experience creating Material Item Masters and Enrichment in SAP
  • Experience with Catia v5 / Smarteam
  • Solumina Work Plan Creation, DRDI process and Rework Order creation experience
  • Experience with SAP Work Order creation and release
  • Proficient with specification and planning resource research (e.g. AIR, GAMPS, IHS, SUDs, SGs, MEPS, VEMEDs and MEJIs)
  • Knowledgeable about Engineering configuration requirements, tooling, quality control, plant safety, blueprint reading, and shop math
  • Experience with procurement
  • Basic knowledge of Lean and/or Six Sigma principles

Desired Skills

  • Test environment experience preferred
  • Solumina Work Order and Operation Alteration process
  • CATIA Flat Pattern / Drawing experience
  • Manufacturing Engineering Modeling
  • GSBI
  • Lean Specialist certification or higher preferred
  • PQ Stamp considered a plus
  • Ability to manage multiple large scale projects with minimal supervision

Education and Experience Requirements


Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Management, Aviation, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job. 5 years experience in manufacturing, materials, or manufacture engineering. Position PurposeUnder limited supervision perform material analysis activities in support of experimental, structural, and/or flammability testing. Principle Duties and Responsibilities:Essential Functions:

  1. Perform various administrative, engineering support, and liaison functions relating to analyzing and initiating procurement and material flow related action with Engineering, Dispatchers, Warehouse Operations, Suppliers, and Test Engineering .
  2. Work closely with external customers to coordinate timely and accurate resolutions to support internal Experimental Test personnel .
  3. Solicits quotes, conducts bid evaluations, evaluates costs, negotiates optimum delivery schedules and ensures the best combination of price, quantity discount, product quality, standard terms and conditions (MOAs), and where appropriate .
  4. Preparation and communication of purchase requisitions of mission critical components, balancing production requirements, inventory objectives and material acquisition costs .
  5. Assists Manufacturing Engineers with SAP Material Master creation and enrichment .
  6. Completes Solumina Data Collect entries and Buyoffs for Materials Operations .

Additional Functions:

  1. Completes Solumina Data Collect entries and Buyoffs for Materials Operations .
  2. Conducts meetings to update and maintain status of project materials and parts .
  3. Mentors subordinates .
  4. Create, update and maintain department procedures on current or new processes .

Perform other duties as assigned.Other Requirements:

  1. Experience in inventory processes and control of all types of materials preferred.
  2. Experience in manufacturing shop floor material control or warehousing preferred.
  3. Experience in a test, labs, or related environment preferred.
