About the team:

We are looking for a new colleague in our Research & Development team at our location in Monterrey! The Chassis Solutions Division of ZF North America offers application specific solutions for a variety of different automotive Steering, Braking, Suspension and Chassis Components. Continued growth in our Monterrey office has created an opportunity for an experienced professional to join our team!

What you can look forward to as a Test Equipment Development Engineer:

• Designs, develops, and maintains automated test systems used to validate ZF electronic products. The role combines electrical hardware and software development, tester automation, test-equipment integration, and hands-on troubleshooting.
• Develop durability and functional test systems for ZF Electronics product lines.
• Design and integrate tester hardware, including interface circuits, wiring, cables, fixtures, measurement instrumentation, power supplies, loads, and communication interfaces.
• Develop tester automation scripts and software.
• Perform tester integration, prove-out, verification, and troubleshooting.
• Support test-equipment project planning, technical documentation, implementation, and delivery.
• Collaborate with program management, product engineering, validation laboratories, other engineering functions, and suppliers.
• Support maintenance, modification, and continuous improvement of existing test systems.

Your profile as a Test Equipment Development Engineer:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience developing automated test equipment or integrated hardware/software test systems.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and design, modify, and troubleshoot electronic circuits.
• Ability to develop automated test scripts and software.
• Familiarity with laboratory instrumentation, measurement equipment, power supplies, loads, and communication interfaces.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and task-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned projects.
• Proficiency in written and spoken English.
• Preferred skills: Experience testing automotive electronic control units. Working knowledge of Python, C#, VB, CAPL, Vector tools, and automotive communication protocols. Experience with full-stack application development, databases, web interfaces, or automated reporting. Experience developing reusable or standardized test-system architectures.
