Test Engineering Co-op - Imaging and Resection

Arthrex is actively searching for a student pursuing a degree in Mechanical, Biomedical or Electrical Engineering or a related field to support the Imaging and Resection (I&R) Test Engineering Department in Naples, FL. The Test Engineering team consists of Product Engineers, Design Transfer Engineers, Test Engineers, and Product Managers. The co-ops chosen for this position will engage with engineers of different product portfolios to test products, perform verification and validation (V&V) activities, develop and implement test fixtures, automate test methodologies, and create data collection systems to better understand and characterize our products. The individuals will also assist in the above activities throughout the Imaging and Resection department, ranging from Shaver, RF, Power, and Fluid’s product portfolios. The ideal candidate will have statistical analysis experience, as well as the ability to articulate test execution steps and test findings. This co-op will run from July 2026 – December 2026. The ideal candidate will have the availability to work 40 hours per week at our Naples, FL facility.

Main Objective:

Co-op will work with the Imaging & Resection Test Engineering department to gain experience in research, design, testing, and manufacturing of medical devices.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead projects for developing different test method procedures.
  • Conduct research/design of experiments (DOEs) on developing products.
  • Perform V&V testing for existing product development.
  • Support reliability testing for various products within the I&R portfolio of products.
  • Analyze data and articulate results into protocols/reports that can be easily followed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • Enrolled as a full-time student pursuing a bachelor’s degree in engineering, or a recent graduate, required. Junior or above pursuing a degree in Mechanical, Biomedical or Electrical Engineering preferred.
    (Recent graduates must be within six months of their graduation date to qualify.)

Knowledge and Skill Requirements /Specialized Courses and/or Training:

  • Ability to effectively communicate, oral and in written, and possess the ability to work through technical issues.
  • Statistical analysis experience in tools such as MiniTab preferred.
  • Prior experience with LabVIEW preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite preferred.

Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:

Knowledge of surgical equipment and instrumentation, mechanical testing equipment, PC, ProEngineer or other 3D modeling software a plus.
