To be successful as a Test Engineer – Physical you should have experience with:
Hands-on experience developing automated tests for ATM / self-service devices, covering both software workflows and physical device interactions.
Strong experience using Eggplant Functional to automate end-to-end ATM journeys, including UI, device control, and integration with backend services.
Hands-on experience developing Playwright-based automation to validate ATM-related web components, management portals, or supporting services.
Proven experience building and maintaining test harnesses and automation frameworks tailored to ATM environments, simulator-based testing, and lab hardware.
Experience validating ATM peripherals and hardware interfaces (eg card readers, PIN pads, cash dispensers, receipt printers) through automated testing.
Strong understanding of ATM transaction flows, states, and error handling across integrated systems.
Experience integrating automation into GitLab CI pipelines, including test execution, reporting, and failure analysis for ATM releases.
Proficient with Git-based source control and collaborative development workflows.
Some other highly valued skills may include:
Experience testing or automating solutions built on ATM software stacks (eg XFS-based, vendor frameworks, or bank-specific ATM platforms).
Experience automating device-level and system-level tests, not just UI-based workflows.
Scripting experience (PowerShell, Bash, or Linux shell) to support ATM test environments, simulators, and deployment workflows.
Experience with test data setup and validation for ATM transactions (balances, limits, declines, reversals, retries)
Familiarity with incident, defect, and problem management for live ATM issues
Financial services background with exposure to cash handling, availability, and customer impact.
Experience working in regulated or high-availability environments where stability and reliability are critical.
