Test Engineer (Junior / Mid-Level)
Brussels, Belgium (Hybrid – 50% on-site)
Contract: 12 Months (Start: June 2026)

About the Role
We are looking for a motivated Test Engineer to ensure the quality and reliability of software across multiple IT projects. You will play a key role in functional and non-functional testing, working closely with business analysts, developers, and project teams in an Agile environment
This role offers the opportunity to contribute to test strategy improvements, quality assurance processes, and continuous delivery practices
Key Responsibilities
Perform functional and non-functional testing across various projects
Analyze requirements and translate them into test scenarios and test cases
Design, execute, and maintain test cases, test scenarios, and Gherkin scripts
Apply test design techniques and ensure adequate test coverage
Document test results and manage defect tracking and quality reporting
Manage and prepare test data
Collaborate in Agile/Scrum teams with cross-functional stakeholders
Provide guidance and support to team members and stakeholders
Demonstrate and explain tools such as SoapUI, Postman, and Swagger
Contribute to continuous improvement of testing processes
Required Skills & Experience
Core Requirements
Minimum 3 years of experience as a Test Engineer
Strong experience in:
Writing test cases and Gherkin scripts

Functional and non-functional testing
Working in Agile environments
Tools & Technologies
Experience with:

Jira, Confluence, Xray

SoapUI, Postman, Swagger
Knowledge of:

SQL

Scripting languages (preferred)
Testing & Methodologies
Familiarity with:

ISTQB, TMap, STBox, Agile Testing frameworks
Strong understanding of:

Test design techniques and coverage methods

Test data management
Additional Technical Knowledge
Basic understanding of application architecture
Knowledge of Java and containerization is a plus

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders
Experience with stakeholder management
Proactive and solution-oriented mindset
Ability to understand business processes and impact of changes
Language Requirements
Fluent in English
Good knowledge of Dutch or French (mandatory)
Passive knowledge of the other national language is a plus
