Job Description

As a Test Engineer at Nokia Defense, you will play a pivotal role in the development and validation of advanced defense communication solutions. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the evolution of cutting-edge technologies that support critical operations worldwide.   • Execute Verification Activities: Perform integration, system, and feature verification tasks for Nokia Defense solutions, ensuring alignment with product and customer requirements.
  • Develop and Execute Test Cases: Create, execute, and analyze test cases while reporting findings clearly and accurately.
  • Investigate and Troubleshoot: Analyze failures and collaborate with development teams to support troubleshooting and resolution activities.
  • Conduct OTA Testing: Plan and execute Over-the-Air (OTA) testing, including radio performance, coverage, mobility, and end-to-end system measurements.
  • Automate Testing Processes: Develop and maintain automated test cases, improve test automation frameworks, and enhance test coverage and efficiency.
  • Build and Maintain Test Environments: Design, integrate, and maintain OTAVA laboratory test setups, including equipment, radio systems, and automation tools.
  • Support Innovation and Learning: Explore emerging validation technologies, automation, AI tools, and data analytics to improve testing methodologies and contribute to continuous improvement.
  • Ensure Quality Standards: Participate in release verification and quality assurance activities to ensure products meet performance, quality, and reliability targets

Must-have:

  • BSc. or MSc. degree in Telecommunications, Electronics, Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
  • Demonstrated programming or scripting skills (Python, Robot Framework, or similar).
  • Analytical mindset and problem-solving skills, with ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid personal identification document from a NATO-member country.
  • Fluency to work in English.

Nice-to-have:

  • Testing experience: Hands-on experience with OTA testing, radio technologies or wireless communication systems through studies, thesis work, internship or projects.
  • Test automation knowledge: Familiarity with test automation tools and frameworks.
  • Linux expertise: Experience working in Linux environments.
  • Wireless technology knowledge: understanding of 4G and 5G wireless communications or RF technologies.
  • Lab equipment proficiency: Experience using laboratory test equipment

Please note that the candidate needs to pass/have a valid Finnish security clearance check. Additionally, this role is based in Finland and we are not offering international relocation option for this position.
