Do you want to work in a dynamic environment where you test the latest innovations every day? As a test engineer, you play a crucial role within our Consumer Safety department at DEKRA. You ensure that products not only meet the highest standards but are also safe and reliable for use.

Together with a team of experts, you will work on a wide range of products. From high-tech cooktops and powerful vacuum cleaners to innovative coffee machines and advanced washing machines – you test them all!

You will be involved in multiple projects simultaneously, both in our DEKRA lab and on-site at the client’s location. Variety and challenges are guaranteed!

Responsibilities

• Independently conducting tests, spending a significant amount of time in the lab (at DEKRA or on-site at the client’s location);

• Performing safety assessments based on international standards or risk-based assessments and testing;

• Reporting (preliminary) test results;

• Keeping the project manager and the client informed about the status and progress.

Your profile

• Secondary vocational education (mbo level 4). Working and thinking at hbo level;

• Experience in reading electrical schematics and flow diagrams;

• Knowledge of international standards such as IEC 60335 and/or UL 2157, UL 858, and UL 1017 is a plus;

• Demonstrate strong language skills in English. Knowledge of the German language is considered a plus;

• A passion for technology and innovation;

• Strong communication skills to liaise with clients and colleagues;

• Flexibility to work on different projects, both in the lab and on-site.
