What to expect:

  • Early-stage flexibility with partial telework during initial development phases
  • Full-time on-site presence at secure facility in Washington, DC will be required as the program matures

  • Dev platform based on ServiceNow, Elastic, AWS and RedHat

What you’ll need:

  • An active TS/SCI clearance (required for consideration)
  • Willingness to complete and maintain additional customer suitability screenings throughout employment
  • Current Security+ certification or higher/equivalent

The Test Engineer works in a fast‑paced Agile environment to verify and validate system changes and advance modern testing techniques. This role supports testing, configuration validation, and ongoing development of the ServiceNow platform, ensuring successful delivery of digital transformation capabilities across ITIL processes and automated workflows.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Ensure high‑quality software delivery using Agile/Scrum testing practices.
  • Analyze requirements and collaborate with leads to ensure testable implementations.
  • Create automation tests using ServiceNow’s Automation Test Framework (ATF).
  • Help define testable acceptance criteria for user stories.
  • Test ServiceNow capabilities developed during each sprint.
  • Support the test manager with test procedure development and execution.
  • Participate in sprint reviews and planning sessions.
  • Translate functional requirements into effective test cases.
  • Perform regression testing and validate full operational test scenarios.
  • Prepare test reports summarizing results, anomalies, and configuration changes.
  • Support software configuration management and understand component interfaces.
  • Develop test plans, test data, and acceptance criteria.
  • Support customer demos, data prep, and UAT activities.
  • Use Jira to document testing progress and defects.
  • Assist with maintaining validation portions of requirements traceability (RVTM).
  • Mentor junior testers as needed.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Active TS/SCI clearance.
  • Ability to work on‑site in Washington, DC.
  • Ability to pass and maintain additional suitability screenings as required by customer
  • Education and experience depending on job level:
  • Level IV: Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline and 8-12 years of relevant experience (or a Master’s and 6+ years). Additional experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Level V: Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline and 12+ years of relevant experience (or a Master’s and 10+ years). Additional experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Experience with test data management and test automation.
  • Experience with DevOps, CI tools, and source control.
  • Experience in Agile development/testing.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1–2 years of ServiceNow administration/configuration experience.
  • Experience with ServiceNow ATF and modules such as Discovery, Event Management, Service Mapping, scripting, custom apps, and workflows.
  • Ability to analyze code and troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Understanding of ITIL practices; ITIL certification preferred.
  • AWS cloud certifications a plus.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies, Jira, and Confluence.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $92,300.00 - $166,850.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
