Job Description

LHP Engineering Solutions is a global Functional Safety leader committed to creating safe transportation with developing technologies such as Electric Vehicles and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems. At LHP we ensure Functional Safety and Cyber Security development of these systems and technologies by leveraging our core expertise with widely accepted standards such as AUTOSAR, ISO26262, ASPICE, ISO/SAE 21434.

This is a hybrid role located in and collaborating with our team in Goleta, CA.

Job Summary:

Test Engineer: Designs, develops, implements, and executes cost-effective methods of testing and troubleshooting systems and equipment. Prepares test and diagnostic programs, designs test fixtures and equipment, and completes specifications and procedures for new products. Plans the labor, schedules, and equipment required for testing and evaluating standard and special devices. May be responsible for setting the parameters and testing of production products.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

Software Development

  • Design, develop, and maintain applications using C# and the .NET framework.
  • Develop reusable software components, libraries, and frameworks supporting ATE test development.
  • Implement graphical user interfaces (GUIs), data collection tools, and automation utilities.
  • Create software solutions that interface with ATE hardware, instrumentation, and manufacturing systems.
  • Perform software debugging, optimization, and performance tuning.

Test System Development

  • Support development and deployment of semiconductor production and characterization test solutions.
  • Integrate software with ATE platforms, instruments, and hardware controllers.
  • Develop automated test execution and data acquisition applications.
  • Support test program releases and production deployments.

Data Analysis & Reporting

  • Develop tools for collecting, analyzing, and visualizing test data.
  • Create automated reporting solutions for yield, performance, and test metrics.
  • Support manufacturing data analysis and root-cause investigations.

Quality & Verification

  • Develop unit tests and automated verification methods for new CMOS ASIC products.
  • Participate in software design reviews and code reviews.
  • Ensure compliance with software development processes and configuration management practices.
  • Document software requirements, architecture, design, and test results.

Cross-Function Collaboration

  • Work with the Teledyne FLIR design team, Manufacturing teams, and customers to formulate test requirements.
  • Support failure analysis and production troubleshooting activities.
  • Same as “Support manufacturing data analysis and root-cause investigations”
  • Prepare Teledyne FLIR characterization and wafer probe test stations.
  • Perform required characterization and production probe tests.
  • Support and on occasion conduct performance testing to ensure the product meets performance requirements under various conditions.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives for test efficiency, repeatability, and automation.
  • Assist the design team in understanding and correcting any design deficiencies found during testing.
  • Assist other engineers in the performance of related duties.
  • Make sure equipment is configured correctly and debugged before initial hardware arrives.
  • Verification of new ICs and/or FPAs performance

Job Qualifications:

Required Qualifications

  • Attention to Detail required assuring that tests are fully documented in compliance with Teledyne FLIR’s quality system.
  • Analytical Problem Solving required to assist the design team in understanding and correcting design deficiencies.
  • Collaboration & Teamwork to effectively communicate with design team and customers.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong Communication Skills – Oral, Listening & Written to effectively communicate and document test results and formulate test requirements.
  • Innovation: Must have the ability to develop new approaches and/or creative solutions using innovative methodologies and/or concepts
  • Flexibility required ensuring the ability to adapt to changing requirements and work-load re-prioritization as indicated.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering/Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or some other related technical field
  • Relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.

Experience

  • 3+ years of software development experience.
  • Experience developing applications using C# and .NET.
  • Experience with object-oriented design principles.

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in:
  • C#
  • .NET Framework / .NET
  • Visual Studio
  • Database technologies (SQL Server or similar)
  • Understanding of software architecture and design patterns
  • Strong debugging and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with semiconductor test development
  • Experience with ATE platforms such as:

  • NI/PXI-based systems
  • FGPA-based systems
  • Experience with hardware communication protocols:
  • GPIB
  • USB
  • Ethernet
  • RS-232
  • TCP/IP
  • Experience with:

  • Ability to assemble printed circuit test boards and solder components.
  • Familiarity with semiconductor devices, mixed-signal ICs, image sensors, or RF products
  • Knowledge of manufacturing systems and production environments.
  • Experience with automated data analysis and reporting tools
