Job Title Test Engineer – Linux/Unix Environment

Contributing to the quality and stabilityof the Payment Hub system (ISO20022) through comprehensive testing activities, including both manual and automated approaches. The role also covers deployment support and verification of security patches for RHEL and AIX servers. This position will begin at NEC India, with several months to one year of training and live operations before potential consideration for future assignments.

/Responsibilities:

• Perform functional and automated testing based on test specifications.
• Execute automated tests using Playwright or similar tools where applicable.
• Conduct manual testing for scenarios not covered by automation.
• Perform deployment tasks on RHEL and AIX servers according to operation manuals.
• Verify security patch information for related software and OS (e.g. RHEL, AIX, JBossAS, WebOTX, HULFT, MQ, JasperReport, etc).
• Log defects and track to closure
• Collaborate with QA Lead for prioritization
• Prepare individual test reports and submit daily status reports
• Maintain close communication with Japan-side team via Teams and email

Technical Skills (Mandatory):Experience in software testing (manual and automation).

• Hands-on experience with RHEL and AIX administration.
• Ability to understand and execute tasks based on English operation manuals.
• Experience with web automation testing tools (e.g., Playwright, Selenium, Cypress).
• Basic knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Fundamental understanding of security patch management.
• Understanding of technical terminology in English.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in banking or financial system development preferred.
• Microsoft Playwright experience preferred.
• Experience working in a team environment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to execute tasks accurately.
• Basic knowledge of bash/ksh

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
• ISTQB Foundation Level preferred
• Relevant certifications in Linux/Unix administration are a plus.

Specialization Description

Synthesizes customer contractual needs and requirements into system test solutions that acknowledges technical, schedule and cost constraints. Develops and directs preparation and execution of comprehensive test plans, procedures and schedules for completing systems. Coordinates integrated testing activities. Reviews and evaluates test requirements to insure completeness of test program. Performs technical analysis of complete systems and prepares comprehensive system level evaluations.
