of Role
Design, develop and diagnose automation equipment for the manufacturing process to assist with the assembly, inspection, and testing of products. Works with NPD / NPI for product changes to meet manufacturing requirements and early engagement. Assists in training and deployment of equipment, including RMA, MPE (Mechanical Process Engineering), TE (Test Engineering), and Operations resources. Completes documentation sufficient for deployment, as well as, transferring to other sites.

• Designs the software to automate the testing of a product.
• Interfaces with database for data collection and data processing.
• Works closely with the MPE and MES (Mechanical Execution System) Engineers for automation and testing to improve productivity and quality.
• Designs the hardware to automate the testing of a product.
• Create design schematics.
• Creates test plans and test reports.
• Assist with assembling and testing.
• Actions impact primary team or product line.
• Interacts with internal and external customers/suppliers.
• Able to translate concepts into designs and actions.
• Prepares detailed specifications / documentation for work that is completed.
• Mastery of systematic/ creative problem-solving tools/skills.
• Understanding and utilization of lean product development tools and methods.

Technical Support:
• Serves as a subject matter expert in appropriate discipline area to provide technical support to engineers, designers, sales agents, customers, and production.
• Works with suppliers to get samples, order parts, and explore cost saving ideas.
• Trains production employees on products, processes, procedures, and equipment.
Administrative Activities:
• Understands and follows all organization and department safety policies and procedures and identify improvements where necessary.
• Issues tooling and materials purchasing requests.
• Performs quality investigations and provides recommendations to address issues.
Coaching / Mentoring:
• Provides coaching and feedback to less experienced technicians and designers.
• Conducts training and technical orientation for new employees.
Qualifications
Must have:
• Bachelor’s degree in computer and/or electrical engineering and at least 5 years of industrial experiences in related field.
• Demonstrated experiences in software development and test engineering.
• Demonstrated capability to read and interpret engineering schematics.
• Excellent presentation skills.
• Demonstrated knowledge of MS Office.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team-based environment.
• Demonstrated capability to interact with different functional teams to complete a project.
• Perform mental tasks such as critical decision making, organizing many topics, prioritizing work to align with business objectives and exercising good judgement.
• Ability to communicate and interact with suppliers and customers effectively.
• Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Fluent in English both verbal and written.
