As a Test Development Engineer, you will work with customers, business development and account managers to assess test development opportunities, prepare responses to RFQs/RFIs, generate statements of work and quotes, define end to end test strategies, and develop ICT and/or FT Test Applications.

Nature of Duties/Responsibilities

  • Work with customers and internal Sanminas Test Engineering/Manufacturing Operations teams to define, develop and execute board-level In-Circuit Test (ICT) and/or functional and system-level test solutions for customers products; encompassing the design of test hardware and test software, the verification and acceptance of test solutions, and the creation of test documentation (test plans, test procedures, test setups, test fixtures, debug instructions, training manuals, etc.).
  • Perform Design for Testability (DFT) analysis of customer designs, and generate DFT reports.
  • Develop device library tests for new components.
  • Develop test scripts and programs to improve automation of the ICT application development process.
  • Interface and travel to other sites to transfer test solutions to USA/Mexico/Europe/Asia in accordance with established guidelines of the Sanmina test release process.
  • Assist in training of Sanmina ICT Engineering development teams in Mexico/India.
  • Provide leadership and training to manufacturing test personnel on test processes, test procedures, test equipment and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Develop PCJTAG quotes and applications for customer designs.
  • Generate TSST (Test Strategy Simulation) reports.

Education and Experience

  • Relevant Degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of test engineering experience.
  • Keysight (Agilent) 3070 user Fundamentals and Boundary Scan Training.
  • Proven hands-on experience in the development, verification, documentation and deployment of complex automated ICT and/or functional/system test solutions - from product conception through prototyping/NPI to volume manufacturing - for communications, optical/photonics, defense, aerospace, medical, industrial or consumer products.
  • Experience in performing Design for Test (DFT) analysis on complex electrical designs.
  • Experience in developing test, verification and characterization processes and procedures.
  • Working knowledge of software development tools such as LabView, LabWindows/CVI, TestStand, Matlab, UNIX OS, shell programming and scripting languages (Perl/TCL/Python) is a definite asset.
  • Experience with OTN switching and TL1 (Transaction Language 1) Protocol would be beneficial.
  • Experience in failure analysis, diagnostics and debug to resolve complex test problems.
  • Proven hands-on experience with debugging tools such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and other test equipment.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies, analyzing control parameters that impact test development, and providing test support to manufacturing.
  • Proven analytical problem solving skills and decision making capabilities.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, communication, reporting and presentation skills.
  • Self-motivated and self-directed, with demonstrated ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team-based environment.
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in a fast pace, dynamic environment
  • Demonstrated project management skills.
  • Ability to work different shifts as needed to optimize test system resources.
