Job Introduction
The Frequentis Group is an international supplier of communication and information systems for control centres with safety-critical tasks. These ‘Control Centre Solutions’ are developed and distributed by Frequentis in the business segments Air Traffic Management (civil and military air traffic control, aeronautical information management, air defence) and Public Safety & Transport (police, fire and rescue services, emergency medical services, vessel traffic and railways). With headquarters in Vienna, the company employs more than 1800 people worldwide, with subsidiaries, regional offices and representatives in over 50 countries. In Cluj we started in 2009 and our local team currently has 230+ colleagues and is growing.
Key Tasks

• Implement, maintain, execute and document automated test cases based on epics and user stories
• Design and develop robust and maintainable automated test scenarios for new and existing features
• Configure and run automated tests in various test environments
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and support continuous testing practices
• Collect and interpret test results and create test reports
• Identify, document and track defects and quality issues in the product
• Retest defects after they are marked as resolved
• Analyze test failures, investigate logs and collaborate with development teams to identify root causes
• Contribute to the improvement and extension of the test automation framework
• Ensure stability and reliability of automated test suites (maintenance, refactoring, reducing flaky tests)
• Understand and apply OOP programming principles in the development of automated tests
• Maintain high quality standards during the testing process by applying clean code principles and following agreed coding standards
• Participate in Agile ceremonies (planning, refinement, review) and contribute to test estimations
• Collaborate closely with developers, testers and other stakeholders to improve overall product quality
• Review automated tests and contribute to defining automation best practices within the team
• Proactively propose improvements to increase the efficiency, coverage and reliability of the automation processes

Key Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in automated testing
• Strong programming skills, preferably using Java, with experience in JBehave, Groovy and Selenium
• Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming principles
• Experience working with test automation frameworks and building maintainable automated tests
• Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (e.g. Jenkins, GitLab CI or similar)
• Good understanding of software testing principles and test design techniques
• Experience with API testing and service-level validation is considered an advantage
• Good knowledge of code versioning tools, such as Git
• Experience working with defect tracking and test management tools (e.g. Jira or similar)
• Experience working in Agile development environments (Scrum, Kanban)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Good English knowledge, both written and verbal
• Flexible, proactive and quality-oriented mindset
• Ability to collaborate effectively in a multicultural team environment
• ISTQB certification is considered an advantage
