ABM is seeking a skilled Journeyman Test and Balance Technician to support testing, adjusting, and balancing operations at a semiconductor and chemical manufacturing facility in Phoenix, AZ. This position is responsible for maintaining proper system and equipment balance during new installations, equipment modifications, and de-installation of process equipment.
The Journeyman Test and Balance Technician will work independently and alongside other experienced technicians to ensure air systems meet operational requirements, customer expectations, and ABM safety standards. This role requires strong technical knowledge, a safety-first mindset, and the ability to troubleshoot system performance issues in a highly regulated industrial environment.

- Perform testing, adjusting, and balancing work in a semiconductor and chemical manufacturing facility.
- Maintain system and equipment balance during new installations, retrofits, and de-installation of process equipment.
- Troubleshoot air requirement issues when system designs or process equipment specifications are not being met.
- Work safely and follow all required safety protocols while operating in a chemical factory environment.
- Understand and apply OSHA 30 safety fundamentals and site-specific safety procedures.
- Read and follow written work plans, technical instructions, and scope-of-work documents.
- Identify deviations from work plans and communicate concerns or questions before proceeding.
- Work closely with other Testing, Adjusting, and Balancing Technicians, apprentices, ABM leadership, and customer representatives.
- Support a team culture focused on safety, accountability, and quality workmanship.
- Hold self and others accountable for following ABM policies, customer expectations, and site requirements.
- Assist with emergency work as needed, including evenings and/or weekends based on customer needs.
- Complete assigned preventive maintenance and reactive maintenance repairs as required.
- Maintain professional conduct and contribute to a workplace where all employees return home safely each day.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be a Journeyman-level member of Sheet Metal Workers Union #359 or meet requirements to work under Union #359.
- Union membership must be maintained throughout employment in this role.
- Must be proficient in English, both written and spoken, to understand safety signs, follow technical instructions, and communicate effectively on site.
- Must be able to work safely in a chemical manufacturing and semiconductor facility environment.
- Must be available to support emergency work during evenings and/or weekends when needed.
- Must be able to work effectively in a team environment and maintain accountability for safety and quality.
