Test Analyst

Salary: 150,000 PNL per annum, plus company benefits

Location: Warsaw

Contract: Full Time

Shifts: 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday, 8.30amam until 5:30pm with 1 hours unpaid lunch break

Work model: Hybrid

Purpose of role

The Test Analyst is responsible for performing manual and automated testing activities to ensure software quality and compliance with functional and non-functional requirements. This includes reviewing requirements for testability, designing and executing test cases, analyzing results, and reporting defects with supporting evidence. The role collaborates with developers and team members to improve test coverage and quality processes and applies discretion in selecting appropriate test techniques and automation tools within established frameworks to meet agreed timelines and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

Test Design & Execution

  • Review requirements and specifications to ensure testability and identify potential quality risks.
  • Design test cases and create test scripts under own direction within the established frameworks, applying appropriate test design techniques.
  • Execute manual and automated test cases for functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Develop and maintain basic automated test scripts for regression and smoke testing using approved frameworks.
  • Interpret, execute, and document test cases and results systematically.
  • Ensure traceability between requirements, test cases, and defects.

Non-Functional Testing

  • Design and execute defined non-functional test cases including performance, usability, and basic security testing under guidance.
  • Use appropriate tools to measure and report on non-functional quality attributes (e.g., response times, load behaviour, accessibility).
  • Analyse non-functional test results and identify performance bottlenecks or usability issues.
  • Contribute to the selection of appropriate non-functional testing tools and techniques.

Defect Analysis & Reporting

  • Analyse test results and identify defects accurately across functional and non-functional areas.
  • Record defects with clear supporting evidence, steps to reproduce, and contextual information for resolution.
  • Track defect status and retest resolved issues to verify fixes.
  • Classify defects appropriately by severity and priority.

Quality Assurance & Process Improvement

  • Apply defined quality assurance processes and standards consistently.
  • Contribute to quality reviews and provide input on testing practices.
  • Participate in lessons learned and retrospectives to enhance testing processes and identify continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with agreed quality criteria and timelines.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Work closely with developers, business analysts, and other team members to improve test coverage and quality outcomes.
  • Communicate test progress, results, and risks clearly to stakeholders.
  • Provide input to test planning activities and estimation for both functional and non-functional testing.

Technical Knowledge

  • Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and testing phases.
  • Knowledge of test design techniques including:
    • Equivalence partitioning
    • Boundary value analysis
    • Decision tables
    • State transition testing
  • Familiarity with testing types:
    • Functional testing (unit, integration, system, regression, smoke)
    • Non-functional testing (performance, load, usability, accessibility, basic security)
  • Basic understanding of automation frameworks and scripting fundamentals.
  • Knowledge of defect lifecycle and severity/priority classification.
  • Understanding of non-functional quality attributes (performance metrics, response times, throughput, usability heuristics).
  • Familiarity with non-functional testing tools and measurement techniques.
