Position Overview

The Territory Sales Manager owns new business acquisition in an assigned geographic territory. You will identify prospects, build pipeline, and close deals within your market. This role is for a hunter who lives in the market, knows the local buyers and incentive programs.

Here's What You'll Do:

  • Own the Territory
  • Own all sales activity in your territory and deliver against your revenue target
  • Build and execute a territory plan covering target accounts, prospecting cadence, and pipeline coverage
  • Identify and qualify opportunities through outbound calling, networking, referrals, local market research, and site visits
  • Win the Deal
  • Manage the full sales cycle, from first contact through site assessment, proposal, negotiation, and close
  • Conduct on-site assessments and needs analyses, and propose tailored EV charging solutions
  • Present to executives, facilities managers, property owners, fleet managers, and procurement teams
  • Build proposals that include total cost, incentive funding, and utility and permitting timelines
  • Use Local Incentives and Channel
  • Know the state, utility, and local incentive programs in your territory and use them to shape and win funded projects
  • Build relationships with contractors, electrical distributors, utilities, and local government
  • Work with the Channel and Partnerships Manager to turn distributor branch relationships into local project opportunities
  • Execute and Report
  • Work with Sales Engineering, Operations, and Finance on proposals and successful deployment
  • Forecast accurately and keep pipeline current in Salesforce
  • Track EV market trends, competitors, and local market dynamics

What You Bring to the Table:

  • 3–7 years of B2B sales experience with a documented record of meeting or exceeding quota
  • Lives in the territory, with existing local relationships and market knowledge
  • Working knowledge of EV charging incentive programs in your market, or equivalent experience in energy, construction, or infrastructure incentives
  • Hunter mentality with strong prospecting and cold outreach skills
  • Experience selling complex solutions with 3–12 month sales cycles
  • Strong presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Salesforce or similar CRM proficiency
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel up to 50% within territory
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field preferred

Preferred

  • EV charging, electrical, energy, construction, or technology sales background
  • Established relationships with electrical contractors, distributors, property managers, or fleet operators
  • Experience with utility interconnection, make-ready programs, and permitting
