Job Description

Purpose of Role

The Territory Sales Manager is accountable for driving revenue growth within an assigned region by developing, advancing, and retaining customer relationships through a consultative sales approach. The role ensures customers clearly understand the value of Rehrig Pacific’s supply chain solutions and receive proactive support throughout the sales cycle. This position is responsible for growing the territory through effective prospecting, selling, market insight, and collaboration with cross-functional partners.

Areas of Accountability

Territory Sales & Revenue Growth

  • Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities while expanding existing accounts through a consultative selling approach, cost-benefit analysis, and clear value articulation.
  • Achieve territory revenue targets through disciplined pipeline management, accurate forecasting, and territory planning aligned with market potential.
  • Develop and deliver compelling solution presentations that connect Rehrig Pacific’s capabilities to customer needs and operational challenges.

Customer Relationship Management

  • Build, strengthen, and maintain long-term relationships with customers across the assigned territory.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor by understanding customer operations, identifying improvement opportunities, and positioning the right solutions.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction through consistent communication, proactive issue resolution, and alignment with internal stakeholders.

Market, Competitive & Industry Insight

  • Monitor market trends, customer feedback, competitive activity, and shifts in industry demand to inform territory strategy and uncover new opportunities.
  • Support the development of competitive pricing strategies and value-based positioning to differentiate Rehrig Pacific solutions.
  • Identify product gaps, evolving customer needs, and SKU expansion opportunities through real-time customer interaction and data insights.

Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Collaborate with sales leaders on multi-site, regional, and national account growth initiatives.
  • Partner with Marketing and Customer Service teams to deliver sales programs, materials, pricing, and promotional support aligned with customer objectives.
  • Communicate regularly with Plant Managers regarding inventory, floor stock, and production capacity to ensure alignment between market demand and operational capabilities.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 2–3 years of B2B field sales experience required; 3+ years preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in consultative selling and relationship development.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Experience with CRM systems ( Salesforce preferred).
  • Ability to independently manage a multi-state territory with strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Acceptable motor vehicle report (operation of company vehicle required).
  • Willingness to travel up to 50%, including air travel.
