Job Description

We are the people who give possibilities purpose

BD is one of the largest global medical technology companies in the world. Advancing the world of health™ is our Purpose, and it’s no small feat. It takes the imagination and passion of all of us—from design and engineering to the manufacturing and marketing of our billions of MedTech products per year—to look at the impossible and find transformative solutions that turn dreams into possibilities.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced, commercially astute Territory Manager to join our Interventional Oncology (IO) team within BD’s Peripheral Intervention (PI) business. This is a high-impact, field-based role with full ownership of a strategically important territory across North and focusing on our Vascular Access product portfolio. The successful candidate will work closely with healthcare professionals across oncology, interventional radiology, palliative care, thoracic surgery, community nurses and other specialised areas to position BD solutions effectively and profitably.

You will be expected to spend a minimum of four days per week in the field, engaging directly with customers and stakeholders across the territory. This role is ideally suited to a proven sales professional who thrives in complex NHS environments, enjoys autonomy, and is motivated by delivering meaningful clinical and commercial outcomes.

Our Vision for Interventional Oncology at BD

Within IO, our focus is on partnering with the NHS to improve patient pathways through innovation, evidence-based solutions and long-term value. We work collaboratively with clinicians and healthcare systems to support better outcomes for patients while addressing the operational and economic pressures facing modern healthcare.

Key Responsibilities

You will take full commercial ownership of your territory, operating it as a business and delivering against clear growth and performance objectives.

  • Develop and execute robust, data-driven territory business plans aligned to national and regional strategy focusing mainly on our Vascular Access product range.
  • Deliver sustained achievement of quarterly and annual sales targets across a complex NHS account base
  • Build deep, trusted relationships with senior clinical, procurement, finance and operational stakeholders
  • Lead and manage product evaluations, trials and adoption pathways, ensuring appropriate governance and in-service support
  • Identify and unlock growth through value-based selling, service redesign and pathway optimisation
  • Work closely with Clinical Consultants, Marketing and National Sales leadership to maximise territory performance
  • Maintain strong forecasting accuracy, pipeline management and CRM discipline
  • Represent BD as a credible, professional partner in clinical education, innovation and long-term collaboration

About You

You are an experienced sales professional who combines commercial rigour with credibility in healthcare environments.

Essential

  • Minimum 5 years’ successful sales experience, within NHS healthcare, MedTech or medical devices
  • Strong understanding of NHS structures, procurement processes and contract negotiation
  • Proven ability to manage complex stakeholder landscapes and long sales cycles
  • Demonstrated strength in business planning, territory management and forecasting
  • Highly self-motivated, resilient and comfortable working autonomously in a field-based role
  • Willing and able to travel extensively, spending a minimum four days per week with customers, with some evening and weekend work as required
  • Proficient in CRM systems and Microsoft Office

Desirable

  • Experience within acute, interventional or oncology-related clinical settings
  • Track record of leading product launches, pathway change or service-based selling
  • Degree-level education or equivalent professional experience
