Job Description

We are partnering with a growing provider of premium engineered hardwood flooring products to identify a Territory Sales Manager focused on expanding dealer relationships throughout the Mid-Atlantic United States region.

This is a hybrid, field-based sales role for an aggressive, seasoned direct-to-dealer flooring sales professional who understands the independent dealer landscape and thrives in a high-growth, entrepreneurial environment. Primary market coverage includes New Jersey, Eastern Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Virginia, Washington DC, Maryland, and Delaware, with regular travel throughout the territory.

This opportunity represents a true ground-up territory build focused on expanding direct dealer relationships throughout the region. The ideal candidate will possess strong relationships with flooring retailers, dealer groups, commercial and residential flooring contractors, and regional distribution networks throughout the Mid-Atlantic market. This role offers significant autonomy, the ability to influence territory growth strategy, and the opportunity to help expand the presence of a premium engineered hardwood flooring brand across one of the most active flooring regions in the country.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a strategic territory growth plan throughout the Mid-Atlantic region
• Build and expand direct dealer relationships with independent flooring retailers and contractor-focused accounts
• Drive specification and pull-through opportunities within residential and light commercial segments
• Identify and secure new dealer partnerships while strengthening existing relationships
• Conduct regular in-market visits, dealer trainings, product presentations, and business reviews
• Partner closely with leadership on pricing strategy, product assortment, merchandising, and market positioning
• Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, operations, and product development teams to support territory growth
• Monitor competitive activity, market trends, and emerging dealer opportunities
• Represent the organization at industry events, trade shows, networking functions, and customer events
• Maintain territory forecasting, pipeline reporting, and growth initiatives

Ideal Background

• 7+ years of flooring industry sales experience preferred
• Strong experience within engineered hardwood flooring required
• Existing relationships with flooring dealers and contractors throughout the Mid-Atlantic region strongly preferred
• Proven ability to build territories and develop business from the ground up
• Strong understanding of flooring distribution, dealer economics, and retail sales processes
• Experience selling premium and better-grade hardwood flooring products preferred
• Ability to travel regularly throughout the territory
• Entrepreneurial mindset with strong accountability and self-management skills
• Excellent presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building abilities

Preferred Experience

• Direct experience selling engineered wood flooring programs
• Relationships with independent flooring dealers and regional dealer groups
• Experience working with imported flooring products and international manufacturing programs
• Knowledge of product positioning across good/better/best assortments
• Understanding of current hardwood design trends, merchandising, and dealer sales strategies
