Territory Sales Manager

Department: Sales

Reports to: Vice President of Sales

Location: Remote/United States

Job Type: Full-time

The Territory Sales Manager is responsible for leading sales operations within an assigned region, providing direction and oversight to a team of outside field representatives. This role owns regional revenue performance, including development and execution of the regional budget, and plays a key role in coaching sales personnel to effectively manage and grow their individual territories.

This position partners cross-functionally to ensure alignment between sales, operations, and customer service while driving profitable growth through a strong distribution network. The Territory Sales Manager reports directly to the Vice President of Plywood Sales and maintains close collaboration with Plant General Managers, Sales Coordinators, Material Coordinators, the Vice President of Sales, and the Manager of Customer Service Centers.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales Leadership & Strategy

  • Lead and manage sales activities across the assigned region to achieve revenue and performance targets
  • Develop and oversee regional sales budgets while guiding territory representatives in building and executing their individual plans
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities aligned with the company’s strategic growth objectives

Team Development & Management

  • Train, coach, and develop outside sales representatives to enhance performance and professional growth
  • Foster a high-performance, accountable, and customer-focused sales culture

Customer & Account Management

  • Respond to customer inquiries and sales opportunities originating from regional offices, mills, and inside sales teams
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and distribution partners
  • Coordinate customer mill visits, tours, and relationship-building events
  • Manage claim resolution in collaboration with inside sales partners

Sales Operations & Coordination

  • Partner with inside sales to provide accurate product pricing, availability, and manufacturing lead times
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of pricing structures, product changes, and production schedules
  • Track and document customer interactions through detailed call reports
  • Collaborate closely with the Hardwood Veneer Buyer and other internal stakeholders to ensure alignment on customer needs

Channel & Market Management

  • Support and manage the distribution sales network to maximize market penetration and product availability
  • Identify and escalate large-scale or strategic opportunities (e.g., OEMs and national retailers) to the National Accounts Sales Manager

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with operations, sales leadership, and customer service teams to ensure seamless execution and customer satisfaction
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by sharing market insights and customer feedback

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, sales, marketing, or a related field (preferred)
  • 3+ years of sales management experience, ideally within manufacturing or building materials
  • 3+ years of experience working within distribution sales channels
