Purpose: To ensure all guests are greeted and seated in a friendly and courteous manner using appropriate procedures, in accordance with Omni Standards. This person is the first point of contact, managing the guests experience from arrival to departure. Greeting guests, managing reservations, managing seating flow, quoting wait times and controlling the pace of the dining room.
Essential Functions:
• Assist managers in opening and closing.
• Answering phone calls per SOP & LSOP.
• Seating guests.
• Control heavy volume at Restaurant entrance.
• Knowledge of hotel property.
• Attend to and anticipate guests needs.
• Familiarization with menus
• Introduce server to guest.
• Greeting guests.
• Knowledge of daily specials.
• Assign tables and stations.
• Maintain a clean and organized area
• Perform additional duties as assigned
• Perform all duties in accordance with MOS
Hotel Specific Essential Functions:
• Knowledge of hotel property and downtown area
• Familiarity with all food and beverage promotions
Tools and Equipment:
• Computer and printer, telephone, pen/pencil, photo-copying machine,
file folders, filing cabinet, facsimile machine
Working Environment:
• Interior of hotel, in all areas of the hotel.
• Exterior of hotel with exposure to weather conditions.
• Exposure to various hazardous chemicals.
• Exposure to food items and beverages.
Physical Job Requirements (for essential functions only)
Lifting/Pushing/Pulling/ Carrying
• 10% limited lifting – 50 pounds – clearing tables and buffets, pulling tables
Bending/Kneeling
• 70% bending to pick-up, general cleanliness
Mobility
• Continually walking at a fast pace
Continuous Standing
• Continually standing 100% of the time
Climbing
• Stairs up to approximately 3 steps 50% of 8 hour shift
Driving
• No driving required
Work Environment
• Inside 100% of work period (usually 8 hours)
Hearing/Vision/Speech/Literacy
• Hearing is critical (Ability to answer telephone and take reservations)
• Vision is critical (Able to seat guests)
• Speech is critical (Able to answer telephone, greet guests and take reservations, solve problems)
• Literacy is critical (Able to take reservations)
Chemical/Agents Used
• Sterno and Windex used everyday
Protective Clothing
• None required
Equipment Operations
• None required
Other Considerations
• Must Provide ServSafe and RAMP certifications upon hire
