We are seeking an experienced and driven Operations Manager to oversee terminal operations, personnel, and customer service at our Sumner, WA location. This role is responsible for ensuring efficient day-to-day operations, maintaining high performance standards, and cultivating a safe, productive, and customer-focused work environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage all terminal and shop activities, ensuring alignment with key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational goals.
  • Develop and execute strategic and tactical operating plans to optimize terminal performance.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for drivers on matters related to company policies, payroll, benefits, and general inquiries.
  • Coordinate and manage driver schedules to meet business and customer service requirements.
  • Lead the recruitment and onboarding process for drivers.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships, working to resolve issues and support business growth.
  • Handle customer concerns promptly and professionally, ensuring high levels of satisfaction.
  • Enforce and promote company safety protocols, ensuring compliance with all safety standards and regulations.
  • Manage, coach, evaluate, and when necessary, discipline staff to maintain performance and productivity.



Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business related field or equivalent business experience in the transportation industry
  • Excellent conflict resolution skills
  • Effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to influence
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft Office
