Job Description

At SecondShop, we’re a team of Canadians who believe in doing better—for our country, your wallets, and our planet.

We started with a simple idea: why should perfectly good products go to waste or sit unsold when people like you are out there looking for smart ways to save? We have made it our mission to source the highest quality open-box, overstocked, and scratch-and-dent products from the top brands - offering them to Canadians at up to 50% off. But we are not just about savings—we’re about changing how people shop. Say goodbye to paying full price and hello to smarter spending.

The Terminal Manager will be responsible for leading the Regina transportation terminal, overseeing daily LTL, final mile delivery, and warehousing operations. This role is accountable for ensuring freight moves safely, efficiently, and on time while maintaining strong service levels, operational discipline, cost control, and compliance with company standards and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all day-to-day terminal operations, including inbound and outbound LTL freight, final mile delivery activity, warehouse handling, staging, storage, and inventory control.
  • Lead, coach, and hold accountable dispatch, warehouse, driver, and administrative teams to ensure consistent execution of daily operating plans.
  • Ensure all deliveries, pickups, cross-dock activity, and warehouse movements are completed safely, accurately, and within required service timelines.
  • Monitor freight flow, route planning, dock activity, staffing levels, equipment usage, and warehouse capacity to maximize productivity and reduce service failures.
  • Maintain strong communication with customers, internal departments, carriers, brokers, and delivery partners to resolve issues and support service expectations.
  • Drive performance against key operational KPIs, including on-time delivery, missed deliveries, claims, dock productivity, scan compliance, POD completion, cost per shipment, and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure compliance with company SOPs, health and safety requirements, transportation regulations, warehouse procedures, and customer-specific handling requirements.
  • Investigate service failures, freight damage, property damage, delivery escalations, and operational exceptions; implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Support cost control initiatives by managing labour, overtime, equipment, facility usage, contractor performance, and route efficiency.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe terminal environment that supports efficient freight handling and professional customer service.
  • Partner with senior leadership to identify process improvements, staffing needs, training opportunities, and operational risks within the Regina terminal.

Leadership and Team Management

  • Provide clear direction, daily priorities, and performance expectations to all terminal employees and contractors.
  • Conduct regular team meetings, shift huddles, coaching conversations, and performance follow-ups.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, safety, professionalism, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, training, scheduling, performance management, and corrective action processes as required.
  • Ensure employees are trained and compliant with warehouse equipment, freight handling, delivery standards, customer communication, and safety requirements.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in transportation, LTL, final mile, warehousing, logistics, or terminal operations.
  • Minimum 2 years of leadership or supervisory experience in a transportation or warehouse environment.
  • Strong understanding of LTL freight movement, last-mile delivery execution, dock operations, warehouse workflows, and customer service requirements.
  • Experience managing drivers, owner operators, warehouse teams, dispatchers, and third-party carriers is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of transportation safety, freight handling, claims prevention, equipment operation, and warehouse best practices.
  • Experience using transportation management systems, warehouse management systems, route planning tools, dispatch platforms, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, organizational, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and respond quickly to operational challenges.

Key Performance Indicators

  • On-time pickup, on-time delivery, and overall on-time performance for LTL, final mile, and warehouse-supported orders.
  • Reduction in missed deliveries, service failures, claims, and operational escalations.
  • Warehouse accuracy, dock productivity, freight availability, and inventory control.
  • POD completion, scan compliance, and order status accuracy.
  • Labour productivity, overtime control, route efficiency, and cost per shipment.
  • Safety compliance, incident reduction, and completion of required training.
  • Customer satisfaction and successful resolution of delivery or warehouse issues.

Working Conditions

  • Combination of office, dispatch, warehouse, dock, and yard environments.
  • Must be available to support operational requirements outside of standard business hours when required.
  • May be required to lift, move, or inspect freight and work around warehouse equipment, trailers, and delivery vehicles.
  • Travel within the local delivery area may be required to support customers, drivers, or operational escalations.
