
Term Faculty of Teaching or Practice for the Department of Finance

The Department of Finance in the Ivy College of Business at Iowa State University is now accepting applications for a full-time term (i.e., non-tenure track) faculty position at the rank of Assistant/Associate/Full Teaching Professor, or Assistant/Associate/Full Professor of Practice. This position will teach courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels in Finance beginning Spring semester, January 2027. Anticipated course load is four courses per semester (i.e., a 4-4 teaching load). This position will consist primarily of in-person classroom instruction on the Ames, IA campus, with the possibility of some online course delivery. The successful candidate will additionally contribute to departmental service and/or student activities (such as case competition preparation, etc., depending on course load assignment). The initial term length will be for one year, ending December 31, 2027, with the possibility for renewal.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship. Immigration sponsorship is not available for this position.
Master’s Degree in Business or closely related field
Qualified candidates must meet the college’s standards to be qualified under AACSB accreditation standards
Prior collegiate teaching experience of at least five years in finance or closely related field
Professional industry experience (e.g., financial services, corporate finance)
Professional credentials in finance (e.g., CFA)
PhD in Finance or closely related field
Solid technological skills to support use of online instructional tools
