Job Description

The Department of Performing Arts in the College of Arts and Sciences at American University invites applications for a term faculty appointment in Audio Technology for Academic Year 2018-2019. Rank will be dependent on experience and stature in the field. The appointment is a 9-month term position and will commence on August 27, 2018. This is primarily a teaching position, so demonstrated experience and excellence in teaching is expected.

Qualifications

An advanced degree in an audio-related field is required (MFA, MA, MM, DMA, or PhD). Candidates with a non­terminal masters and significant industry experience will be considered. Responsibilities include teaching three courses per semester including, but not limited to, graduate and undergraduate courses in music recording and mixing, aural analysis and ear training for audio, studio management, digital audio workstations, and other audio production related topics. All faculty are expected to hold office hours and participate in Department and University activities and service.
