Job Description

The School of Education in the College of Arts and Sciences at American University invites applications for two term faculty appointments for Academic Year 2016-2017. Rank will be dependent on experience and stature in the field. Each appointment is a 9-month term position and will commence on August 29, 2016.

Applicants should hold a PhD or other terminal degree. Highly qualified applicants with all but dissertation in a field related to education will be considered. The position will require the incumbent to teach six courses per year, which will include a combination of undergraduate or graduate courses including, but not limited to teacher education, special education, international education or educational policy and leadership. These individuals will also be responsible for providing mentoring to undergraduate and graduate students in the School of Education. All faculty are expected to hold office hours and participate in the school, college, and University activities and service.
