The overall scope of the job includes working in front of the restaurant while cooking and preparing hot meals on hibachi tables directly in front of guests.

The successful candidate will have a passion for creating culinary masterpieces and providing an exceptional dining experience for our guests. You will be responsible for preparing and cooking meals on a teppan, an iron griddle, in front of guests. This includes a variety of meats, seafood, vegetables, and other ingredients.

You will also be responsible for creating a fun and engaging atmosphere, as teppanyaki cooking is as much about the performance as it is about the food.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparing and cooking meals on a teppan in front of guests.
• Creating a fun and engaging atmosphere.
• Interacting with guests and explaining the dishes being prepared.
• Maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene.
• Managing inventory and ordering supplies as needed.
• Training and supervising junior kitchen staff.
• Developing new menu items.
• Ensuring the kitchen is clean and well-maintained.
• Working closely with the restaurant manager to ensure a high-quality dining experience.
• Handling customer complaints and queries professionally.

Job Requirements

• Proven experience as a Teppanyaki Chef.
• Excellent knife skills.
• Knowledge of Japanese cuisine.
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure in a busy environment.
• Understanding of food safety and hygiene regulations (HACCP).
• Ability to manage inventory and order supplies.
• Ability to train and supervise junior kitchen staff.
• Creativity in developing new menu items.
• Ability to handle customer complaints and queries professionally.
