
NYU Shanghai is currently inviting applications for positions at the rank of Assistant Professor in Technology, Operations, and Statistics, expected to start in the Fall Semester of 2027.
Terms of employment at NYU Shanghai are comparable to NYU New York and other U.S. institutions with respect to research start-up funds and compensation, and they include housing subsidies and educational subsidies for children. Faculty may in certain cases have the opportunity to spend time at NYU New York and other sites of the NYU Global Network, engaging in both research and teaching.
We seek candidates who have completed a Ph.D. in Information Systems, Operations Management, Operations Research, Statistics, or a closely related discipline and demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence in scholarly research and teaching. Associate and full professor applicants should have a proven track record of exceptional scholarship in Technology, Operations, or Statistics as well as of institution building and service. We invite applications from candidates in any field and have a special interest in those with expertise in healthcare and in AI for business.
Applicants should submit a cover letter, curriculum vitae, statement of research, statement of teaching interests (no more than three pages each), and at least one writing sample via Interfolio. Applicants are asked to identify one of the following as their main research area on the provided cover letter: (1) Information Systems, (2) Operations Management, or (3) Statistics. Additionally, applicants will be prompted to enter the names and email addresses of at least three evaluators. Each referee will be contacted to upload a confidential letter of recommendation through Interfolio.
Applications may be received until November 15, 2026. Members of the search committee will be available to meet with prospective applicants during the INFORMS Annual Meeting in San Francisco, CA, between November 1-4, 2026.
