Job Description

In an effort to prioritize and strengthen health as a core area of research and teaching, NYU Shanghaiis currently inviting applications for multiple positions at the ranks of assistant or associate professor in the following academic areas (or closely related fields): Biology, Chemistry, Economics, Neural Science, Physics, Social Sciences, Global Public Health, Biostatistics, and/or Social Work. We also welcome faculty whose work crosses disciplinary boundaries.

Terms of employment at NYU Shanghai are comparable to NYU New York and other U.S. institutions with respect to research start-up funds and compensation, and they include housing subsidies and educational subsidies for children. Faculty may in certain cases have the opportunity to spend time at NYU New York and other sites of the NYU Global Network, engaging in both research and teaching.

Qualifications

We seek candidates who have completed a Ph.D. in one of the academic areas listed above or a closely related field, who pursue health-related research. Distinguished records of scholarship, funded-research, teaching, and service are desired from mid-career candidates, while pre-tenure candidates must demonstrate clear potential to achieve the same. Excellent candidates should also have proven expertise in teaching across the complexities of interdisciplinary scholarship.
