Job Description

The Department of Natural Sciences invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor position beginning in the 2027-2028 academic year at Fordham University Lincoln Center campus. We seek an innovative scholar whose research leverages unique opportunities to understand how aspects of urban environments interact with biological processes to impact health outcomes. Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, or a closely related discipline and demonstrate a strong, proven excellence in undergraduate teaching and student mentoring.

Priority will be given to candidates who conduct laboratory or field research relevant to New York City and its communities, and who maintain a strong research record of engaging undergraduate students in active research. Tenure-track faculty are expected to teach undergraduate lectures and laboratory courses across the Natural Sciences curriculum and to develop new coursework at the intersection of urban environmental science and public health.

Qualifications

Ph.D. in Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, or a closely related discipline; demonstrate a strong, proven excellence in undergraduate teaching and student mentoring.
