Job Description

Interested in work that’s a little different than the typical finance job? The Business and Economics Department at Ursinus College – an institution committed to liberal education, cross-disciplinary conversation, and student success – invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position beginning in Fall 2023. The position will be oriented towards teaching finance courses, introductory and in your field of specialty. All pre-tenure faculty at Ursinus also teach the interdisciplinary Common Intellectual Experience (CIE) seminar for first-year students two times. Additional responsibilities may also include teaching principles courses in economics and senior capstone courses. The teaching load is five courses (four credit-hours each) per year, with one course release in the first year. Tenure-track faculty are also expected to establish a program of scholarship, supervise student research and honors projects, and take part in academic advising of majors and first-year students.

The department welcomes applications from candidates with additional interests in teaching econometrics, data analytics, or even writing and speaking, as the department’s curriculum encourages the development of communication skills. Interest in interdisciplinary research and teaching is a plus, as the college has recently implemented an innovative core curriculum that encourages such endeavors.
