The Strategy Department at IE University invites applications for tenure-track positions in Strategic Management, effective September 2027.
We are looking for candidates with a PhD in Management or a closely related discipline. Candidates should have the ability to publish in top-tier peer-reviewed international journals, to teach strategy-related courses at the undergraduate or graduate level, to interact and work closely with faculty from other disciplines, and to provide intellectual leadership in the area.
Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
The Department of Strategy’s research is organized around four interconnected areas: Corporate Strategy, Innovation, Platform Ecosystems, and Non-Market Strategy. Together, these areas examine how firms grow through diversification and innovation, while adapting to the challenges and opportunities of the digital economy—including platforms and AI—and addressing broader societal and environmental issues shaped by policy, regulation, and stakeholder engagement. Although we welcome candidates working in any strategy-related area, we are particularly interested in those whose research aligns with our areas of interest.
Our faculty have published in top academic journals, including the Academy of Management Journal, Strategic Management Journal, Organization Science, Management Science, Journal of Management Studies, and Journal of International Business Studies, among others. They have won prestigious research grants such as the ERC Starting Grant, ERC Proof of Concept Grant, and the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellowship. In addition, our faculty includes current or former Associate Editors of the Academy of Management Journal, Management Science, and Strategic Organization, as well as Editorial Board members of the Strategic Management Journal, Management Science, Journal of Management Studies, Journal of Management, Academy of Management Discoveries, and Academy of Management Perspectives
