
The Department of Biomedical Engineering at Case Western Reserve University is pleased to invite applications for a tenure-track position in the area of artificial intelligence and extended reality (augmented reality, virtual reality and mixed reality) technology development, with an anticipated starting date of January 1, 2025 or thereafter. The position will be within the School of Medicine at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level.
Responsibilities and duties: Establishing innovative, effective and ethical pathways to use AI as our partner in medical advancements will benefit myriad patients and medical students. The AI faculty member will seek to integrate AI with extended reality (augmented reality, virtual reality, and mixed reality) technology with research goals that may include, but are not exclusive to:
The position will collaborate with the Interactive Commons, a campus innovation institute dedicated to connecting individuals within and beyond our campus through technology and advanced visualization to further research and education. Specifically, this position will link AI with the discipline of medicine to effectively innovate clinically relevant solutions as well as novel approaches to medical education.
A doctorate in Biomedical Engineering or a closely related Science/Engineering field is required. The successful candidate is expected to contribute to the graduate training mission of the department, and to engage in departmental, institutional and professional service activities.
