Job Description

The department of Political Science and International Relations at Creighton University invites applications for a full-time, tenure track Assistant Professor specializing in American Politics. We seek individuals committed to being outstanding teacher-scholars within a primarily undergraduate-serving college. The successful applicant will teach a 3-3 course load that includes 1st year core courses in American government and politics, as well as upper division elective courses in their area of expertise, including American institutions, behavior and research methods, depending on departmental needs.

Qualifications

• A Ph.D. in Political Science (or a closely related field) is required to be in hand by the beginning of the contract (August 1, 2027)
• An emerging record of scholarship
• Ability to foster student learning, development, and decision making in support of their goals, success, wellness, and needs
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop rapport quickly and effectively with a diversity of populations
• Empathy and compassion for the experiences of others
