A full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Theater, with a specialization in directing, playwritingand production –a dynamic artist-scholar with a strong production background, who is committed to excellence in teaching, creative work, and service.
The appointment is expected to begin on August 15, 2026
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct at least one departmental production per academic year.
- Teach undergraduate courses in acting, directing, playwriting, productionand other theater-related subjects
- Develop and revise curricula to reflect diverse theatrical traditions and practices
- Advise and mentor students in academic and production-related settings
- Engage in ongoing creative and/or scholarly work in the field
- Contribute to departmental and university service
- Foster an inclusive learning environment that embraces diversity in all its forms

The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to direct theatricalproductions (both student and professional), teach a range of undergraduate courses in acting, directing, playwriting and production – and contribute to a vibrantcurriculum and help build a growing theater culture and community.
Some knowledge of theater from the MENA region is beneficial though not essential. Similarly, some background in directing or acting for film is also beneficial.
