Job Description

The Mathematics and Computer Science Department at Ursinus College invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level in the area of Statistics to begin Fall 2021. Applicants are invited from all areas of statistics, including statistics education. All areas will be considered, but preference will be given to biostatistics. Teaching responsibilities will include 5 courses over two semesters (3/2 teaching load), including both introductory and higher-level statistics and probability courses for undergraduates, and the Common Intellectual Experience, a first-year interdisciplinary seminar.

Qualifications

Ability and interest in teaching mathematics and/or computer science is a plus. The successful candidate will be expected to establish a research program, as well as show a commitment to fostering undergraduate research.

A Ph.D. in Statistics or a closely related field is strongly preferred; ABD with anticipated completion in Fall 2021 will be considered.
