Job Description

The department of Education at Creighton University invites applications for a full-time 11-month, tenure track Assistant Professor specializing in Educational Leadership We seek individuals committed to being outstanding teacher-scholars within a primarily undergraduate-serving college. The successful applicant will teach a 3-3-1 course load that includes graduate level courses in Educational Leadership and Secondary Education courses in their area of expertise, depending on departmental needs. While the Educational Leadership program is online, the successful candidate witll be required to maintain a strong presence on our Creighton Omaha campus.

Qualifications

  • A Ph.D. in Educational Leadership (or a closely related field)
  • Ability to foster student learning, development, and decision making in support of their goals, success, wellness, and needs
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop rapport quickly and effectively with a diversity of populations
  • Empathy and compassion for the experiences of others
  • K–12 school leadership experience (both private and public experience would be valuable)
  • Demonstrate excellence in teaching in an online format
  • Demonstrate a well-developed research agenda focused on educational leadership that connects theory to practice and addresses challenges across diverse educational settings
  • Given the University’s Jesuit and Catholic mission and identity, demonstrated experience or interest in Catholic school leadership or related research is especially welcomed, though it is not required
  • Priority will be given to candidates who demonstrate continued potential for peer-reviewed publications, professional conference participation, and grant activity, and whose research aligns with the College’s strategic goal of advancing ethical, effective, and mission-driven leadership in education

  • Statement of Teaching Philosophy
