General Statement of Duties:   Performs a variety of registration and check-in duties associated with the operation of the HRCA Tennis Pavilion and the overall tennis program. Maintains a working knowledge of all current HRCA tennis programs, including lessons, leagues, social events, and tournaments. Provides customer service by responding positively to customer inquiries and assisting customers in a timely manner. Responsible for accurate day-to-day collection of money tied to point of sale activities and registration programs. Provides a prompt, courteous response to all telephone inquiries. Assists the Tennis/Pickleball Coordinator in performing clerical duties related to the provision of tennis programming and operation.
Supervision Received:    Works under the supervision of the Tennis/Pickleball Coordinator.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Examples of Duties:   The following examples of duties are intended to be illustrative only and are not intended to be all-inclusive.
- Provides customer service to all tennis/pickleball customers, both internal and external. Approaches others courteously and with a helpful attitude. Provides accurate information, in a timely manner, for all walk-in and telephone inquiries. Performs tennis/pickleball-related clerical duties.
- Provides quick and accurate check-in for various tennis groups. Check-in includes collecting the appropriate program/point of sale fees including session programs, Pro Shop sales, court reservations, ball machine rentals, and private lessons.
- Utilizes Xplor software to facilitate answering tennis/pickleball program registration questions and to perform registration duties.
- Responds to telephone customers by making accurate court reservations, taking registration information, and providing tennis/pickleball program information. Attends to details and uses proper telephone etiquette.
- Understands the needs of league and tournament players.
- Knows how to read a tennis/pickleball draw sheet(s) and how to communicate that information to a player.
- Contributes to the overall appearance and safety of the facility (i.e. picking up balls in the lobby/pathways/court areas).
- Ensures that all work areas are kept in a manner reflective of positive public presentation.
- Sets up the ball machine(s) for clients when requested.
- Progress monitors the utility of the balls in the machines and replaces them when needed.
- Performs all Shift duties as required.
- Performs related duties as assigned and required.
Physical and Environmental Standards:   Will be working in both indoor and outdoor environments. Indoor work is in a busy office where noise and interruptions prevail.  Outdoor work can be performed in different types of conditions including, but not limited to heat, wind, cold, rain, and snow. Must be able to frequently sit and occasionally walk, stand, climb, bend, kneel, stoop, reach and lift, push or pull. Manual dexterity is needed to type, write, use a calculator, and answer the phone. The ability to talk and hear via the telephone and through face-to-face communication is needed. Vision requirements include near and far acuity. Upper body strength is a requisite to lift/move a maximum of 40 pounds unassisted and 60 pounds with assistance. Multitasking, meeting deadlines, and the ability to both accept and provide direction are required.

QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:   Ability to provide exceptional customer service to all ages and levels of tennis/pickleball members/guests, as well as staff members within HRCA. Ability to perform computer and clerical skills related to tennis/pickleball programming. Ability to communicate professionally and effectively, both in person and by telephone. Must be able to reason, problem solve, and effectively find solutions when problems occur. Must enjoy heavy contact with the public. Basic computer skills and phone etiquette are required.
Must pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening.

Education:   A minimum of 2 years of high school is required.

Experience: Prior experience with the game of tennis and/or being a tennis player is preferred.
