General Statement of Duties: Performs a variety of duties associated with the presentation of the HRCA Tennis Pavilion Program. Assists in on-court tennis programming to include group lessons, drills, camps, clinics, and other tennis programming. Works in conjunction with other tennis staff to promote the tennis programs and provide quality customer service. Supports the tennis/pickleball desk model by providing information about on-court functions and needs.
Supervision Received: Works under the supervision of the Head Tennis/Pickleball Professional.
Supervision Exercised: None.
JOB DESCRIPTION

- Implements tennis programs in conjunction with the tennis teaching team.
- Provides customer service to all tennis customers, both internal and external.
- Approaches others courteously and with a helpful, positive attitude.
- Role models professionalism in dress, on-court behavior, and assistance provided to the tennis teaching team.
- Supports the tennis desk function. Provides information to clarify on-court functions, events, programs, and fee collection.
- Contributes to the overall appearance and safety of the facility, i.e. picking up balls in the lobby/pathways/court areas. Ensures that all work areas are kept in a manner reflective of positive public presentation.
- Performs related duties as assigned and required.
Physical and Environmental Standards: Will be working in both indoor and outdoor environments. Indoor work is in a busy office where noise and interruptions prevail. Outdoor work can be performed in different types of conditions including, but not limited to heat, humidity, sun, wind, cold, rain, and snow. Must be able to frequently sit and occasionally walk, stand, climb, bend, kneel, stoop, reach and lift, push or pull. Manual dexterity is needed to type, write, use a calculator, and answer the phone. The ability to talk and hear via the telephone and through face-to-face communication is needed. Vision requirements include near and far acuity. Upper body strength is a requisite to lift/move a maximum of 40 pounds unassisted and 60 pounds with assistance. Multitasking, meeting deadlines, and the ability to both accept and provide direction are required.
QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Must demonstrate an ability to assist in the teaching of tennis programs including group lessons, clinics, camps, and special events for participants of all ages. Knowledge of tennis/pickleball desk procedures and customer service functions. Ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external customers.
Must pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening.

Education: A minimum of 2 years of high school is required.
Experience: Prior experience with the game of tennis and/or being a tennis player is preferred.
