Job Description

The Tendering and Project Engineering Manager (TPEM) Leader will be responsible to lead the broader project engineering team to deliver wing-to-wing customer solutions, delivering world-class risk-adjusted technical proposals and excellence on engineering project execution and governance with focus on safety, bolstering quality, on-time delivery, and an all-around defect-free customer experience. This is a highly visible and challenging leadership role, with single point ITR engineering accountability for Aeroderivative New units project engineering.
The TPEM scope entails; Tendering Engineering Management (TEM), developing and executing the plant and equipment proposal technical strategy, ensuring feasibility and constructability of engineering solutions, technical risk management and leading the application engineering team to deliver a quality technical proposal. Project Engineering Management (PEM), leading internal engineering coordination and subcontracted services, managing customer and partner deliverables, and ensuring contractual technical scope compliance.
The leader of this organization will operate and be an active part of the Aero Engineering team ensuring proper use of engineering resources, processes, and tools to deliver the best possible customer outcome. In addition, he or she will inspire a LEAN culture of continuous improvement with clarity in KPIs and initiatives. This person will work in collaboration with other engineering, project management and commercial and sales teams to drive customer experience excellence while creating a safe, inspirational, and inclusive workplace that enables the team to achieve its purpose.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Provides Leadership and technical direction to enable the TPEM organization to successfully execute as part of the broader ITR process, with firm focus on risk-adjusted technical proposals and project execution excellence.
  • Collaborates within Aero Engineering, Project Management, Product Line, Supply Chain, and Commercial and Sales teams to ensure safe and on-time delivery of technical proposals and projects that exceed customer expectations.
  • Works effectively with customers, partners, and suppliers to ensure successful completion of projects.
  • Leads the team to properly resolve complex technical issues and drives technical risk mitigation actions to closure.
  • Assures proposal and project technical excellence and safety.
  • Responsible for implementing sound application and project engineering management processes.
  • Develops tracking systems to ensure key TPEM performance milestones are met and prioritized according to SQDC.
  • Tracks and prioritizes resolution of systemic project issues through open communication and feedback processes with interacting teams, covering proposal development, project kickoff, project reviews, lessons learned, design freeze, as-builts, project installation, construction, start-up and commissioning activities ensuring adherence to all ISO-procedures and work instructions.
  • Exemplifies unyielding compliance and ethical behavior.
  • Responsible for coaching, developing and engaging the global team.
  • Creates initiatives and strategies that are responsive to our customers’ needs.
  • Participates in cross-functional business and cultural development.
  • Leads with a Lean mindset. Leverages Lean in the quest to reduce waste and improve customer value. Practices and promotes Lean concepts.
  • Provides long range strategy to improve organizational effectiveness globally and support business needs.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college of Science in Engineering or related technical field.
  • 8-10 years of experience with progressive growth in engineering.
  • 3-5 years of experience in direct people leadership

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in design, applications, or project engineering.

  • Strong interpersonal skills. Able to work with different levels of management, vendors, customers, and cultures.
  • Ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple projects/workload.
  • Outstanding written and verbal English communication skills (oral and written).
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
  • Significant experience of progressive experience in an engineering environment.
  • Experience with coaching and developing people leaders.

Relocation Assistance Provided: Yes

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $152,400.00 and $254,000.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
