It's election season, and we need your help! Calling all Warehouse Drivers!

Our Temporary Warehouse Drivers with Maricopa County Elections assist with election activities by preparing and transporting equipment, making deliveries, and assembling election material and voter center supplies. This position involves supporting warehouse functions and driving in phases to ensure timely deliveries.

We Require

This position requires a high school diploma or GED.

Other Requirements

  • Must be a registered voter or have the ability to become a registered voter in the State of Arizona
  • Must pass an applicable background screening
  • May require the use of a County vehicle, which would require a valid driver’s license, current auto insurance, and attendance in Maricopa County’s Defensive Driving Course
  • Must possess or have the ability to obtain a valid Arizona driver's license by the time of hire

  • Two or more years of professional driving experience
  • One or more years of warehouse experience
  • Experience driving a 26-foot box truck with air brakes

Job Contributions

  • Prepares Election supplies in a warehouse environment
  • Supports other warehouse functions such as checking equipment in and out, lifting and stacking inventory, and general warehouse maintenance
  • Replenishes labels, pallet stacks, loads/unloads trailers and trucks, and moves stowed products to various locations
  • Drives a 26-ft box truck with air brakes to deliver and pick up Election materials
  • Transports equipment and items to and from Polling Locations and Vote Centers
  • Works in teams of two with a partner from a different political party
  • Fulfills and organizes orders to ensure vote centers have adequate equipment and ensure the delivery process is efficient and accurate
  • Assists other divisions of Elections with their daily functions and activities, along with other job duties as assigned
  • Follows a checklist to ensure that the setup of the Vote Center is done accurately and completely
  • Verifies that the room and area allocated for equipment are available to use and checks that the correct equipment was delivered before setup
  • Collaborates with Poll Workers and T-Techs to deliver equipment to set up Vote Centers and Polling Locations before opening for Election activities

Working Conditions

  • Full-time/Temporary/Holiday/Overtime hours are mandatory during the election cycle
  • This position requires the ability to sit or stand for extended periods
  • Upper extremity repetitive motion is required, as well as daily repetitive manual lifting and moving of election equipment
  • Requires the ability to lift floor-to-shoulder and shoulder-to-waist up to 40 pounds and carry for 100 feet, and to push/pull up to 50 pounds for 200 feet
  • Work environment is outdoors in high temperatures or indoors in a warehouse setting
  • Use of a pallet jack will be required
  • Utilizing a county vehicle to travel within Maricopa County is required; driving will occur sporadically and in the last phase of the election cycle
  • Must not engage in any political discussion

Selection Procedure - Maricopa County

The Maricopa County Human Resources Department reserves the right to admit to the selection process only those candidates considered to be the most highly qualified. Those selected will be assessed based on the evaluation of listed education and experience. The hiring authority will interview and select the successful candidate from a list provided by Human Resources.
