Job Description

Sigvaris is currently looking for a Temporary Employee to work as Packaging Operator I in our Finishing Department in Peachtree City, GA. Reporting directly to the Finishing Supervisor, the Packaging Operator I is responsible for completing the finishing process by labeling and packaging products within established quality standards.

SHIFT:

• Monday to Thursday: 5 a.m. to 2 p.m.

• Friday: 5 a.m. to 9 a.m.

LENGTH of ASSIGNMENT:

• This temporary assignment will last for about a month or two.

PAY:

• $16.75 per hour

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Accurately packages/labels products for transport to Finished Goods Warehouse.

o Scan the job ticket and verify the job order # and the box # that shows on the screen matches the job ticket.

o Verify the correct boxes have been issued for the job.

o Load the boxes into the box feeder and start the autoboxer.

o As each box cycles around, place the product inside each box one set at a time.

o As each completed box exits the autoboxer, verify the label information is correct and the label has been applied properly and place each box into the tote.

• Supports the SIGVARIS quality system and quality policy by following work instructions, procedures and the accurate fulfillment of required forms to meet all internal and external requirements.

• Assists with the training of new personnel in the department.

• Works toward meeting the production and quality goals set by management.

• Maintains a neat and clean work area.

• Accurately stocks raw materials back into designated areas at the end of the break/lunch/shift.

• Ensures a safe work environment for all employees.

• Fosters positive morale among staff, by promotion of open communication with all departments, to help create and maintain an innovative and cooperative staff relationship and environment.

o Interacts with external and internal customers in a timely manner conducive to continued positive relationships.

o Displays patience, courtesy and tact; demonstrates flexibility, enthusiasm and willingness to cooperate while working with others or in place of others as necessary.

• Demonstrates effective communication methods.

o Finishing Supervisor and/or appropriate management staff are kept informed of developments affecting their functions.

o Responds quickly to all oral and written communications.

o Maintains and encourages an open line of communication with both internal and external customers.

o Accurately and legibly presents written data to affected internal/external customer.

• Follows established company policies and procedures to ensure compliance with SIGVARIS policies, industry standards, ISO 13485 standards, 6S and Lean Manufacturing, and Federal, State and local laws.

• Assists with the implementation of Lean/Kaizen initiatives or events in the department.

• Follows all work instructions, creates and maintains accurate records to meet all internal and external requirements to support the SIGVARIS Quality System and Quality Policy.

• Accurately performs any other duties and responsibilities as assigned to ensure an efficient workflow.

Requirements

EDUCATION and WORK EXPERIENCE:

• A high school diploma or equivalent education and experience.

• Prefer someone with a minimum of one to two years of experience with the inspection/quality of products in a manufacturing environment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

This job operates in a manufacturing environment:

• Regularly required to stand for long periods of time.

• Ability to walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, talk or hear, bend, lift or climb.

• Occasionally required to lift light weights (less than 25 pounds).

• Finger dexterity and hand coordination required.

• Specific vision abilities required for this job include: color determination, close vision, distance vision, ability to adjust or focus.

You will be paid through a temporary agency and will be required by that agency to successfully complete a background check and drug test in advance of hire.
