The Parks & Recreation Ranger will provide high-quality, in-person customer service and education to recreation center users while patrolling the facilities. The Parks & Recreation Ranger will provide front-line customer service to the public and enforce rules, regulations, and ordinances related to the Goodyear Recreation Campus. The Parks & Recreation Ranger will provide support to part-time and full-time staff.
The ideal candidate will be a dedicated and highly trained security professional with a strong commitment to safeguarding the Goodyear Recreation Center and its patrons. They must have the ability to maintain a safe and secure environment through proactive surveillance, efficient incident response, and exceptional interpersonal skills. They will be adept at enforcing policies and regulations while providing excellent customer service to enhance the overall experience of visitors. The ideal candidate must be able to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with high service delivery expectations.

Formal Education/Knowledge: Work requires knowledge of a specific vocational, administrative, or technical nature that may be obtained with six months to one year of advanced study or training past the high school equivalency. Community colleges, vocational, business, and technical or correspondence schools are likely sources. Appropriate certification may be awarded upon satisfactory completion of advanced study or training.
Experience: Minimum of one year of experience in a related field is preferred.
Certifications and Other Requirements: Valid driver's license, CPR certification, and First Aid certification is preferred.
Reading: Work requires the ability to read staff reports, memoranda, letters, and general correspondence.
Math: Work requires the ability to perform general mathematical calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Writing: Work requires the ability to write reports, letters, registration forms and flyers, and accident and incident forms.
Managerial: Semi-Complex — Work requires the occasional direction of helpers, assistants, seasonal employees, interns, or temporary employees.
Policy/Decision Making: Significant — The employee normally performs the duty assignment after receiving general instructions as to methods, procedures, and desired end results. There is some opportunity for discretion when making selections among a few, easily identifiable choices. Work involving discretion is typically reviewed before finalized.
Technical Skills: Broad Application — Work requires the use of standard technical skills appropriate to the work environment of the organization. Limited analysis and independent thinking are utilized.
