EP Langage is seeking a proactive and skilled Production Maintenance Technician to join our maintenance team to support the delivery of high-quality engineering services on a temporary basis initially for one year, with potential for futher extensions for up to three years.

This role operations as part of a 24/7/365 shift rota to support the needs of the business, working an average of 37 hours per week.

This role is critical to ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of our plant, enabling both reactive maintenance and planned routine work to be completed outside of normal working hours.

The successful candidate will play a key role in fault investigation, continuous improvement, and outage planning, whilst maintaining the highest standards of health, safety, and compliance. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated technician to contribute to operational excellence in a dynamic production environment.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Production Team Leader, the key duties and responsibilities include:

  • Investigating faults on plant highlighted by the notification process in SAP.
  • Progressing notifications into work orders.
  • Completing daily scheduled work, ensuring the highest standards of H&S are followed.
  • Ensuring tooling/equipment used is in date inspection and suitable (PUWER, LOLER).
  • Co-ordinating third party contractors on site when required.
  • Finding and implementing improvements to plant (continuous improvement).
  • Assisting in the planning and delivery of outages.
  • Being reactive to breakdowns when required.
  • Reporting progress of work as required.
  • Assisting in the development of apprentices on site.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Background

  • Demonstrable experience gained within the power generation industry or similar heavy industry - essential
  • Previous experience of contractor management - essential
  • Proven experience in the overhaul, maintenance, and repair of valves and pumps within an industrial or manufacturing environment - essential
  • Strong practical ability using a wide range of hand and power tools to complete maintenance and repair tasks efficiently and safely - essential
  • Good numeracy, literacy and problem-solving skills - essential
  • Demonstratable competence in use of IT/IS skills (e.g. MS Office) - essential
  • Appreciation of the core components of a CCGT and how they operate - desirable

  • Ability to ensure as the Operator and/or Maintainer that there is close and effective working with the day maintenance crew and others - essential

Qualifications

  • Completed a recognised formal training programme or apprenticeship to achieve technician status (e.g. C&G parts I, II & III) - essential
  • HNC/ONC in an engineering subject, plus relevant experience - desirable
