Job DetailsJob Location: San Antonio Food Bank - Main Building - San Antonio, TX 78227Position Type: TemporaryEducation Level: High School or GED EquivalentSalary Range: $18.00 - $18.00 SalaryTravel Percentage: No Travel RequiredJob Category: Admin - ClericalSummary: Responsible for assisting at the front desk with administration duties including greeting guests, providing exemplary customer service, answering phones, and handling general inquiries. This is a temporary position for approximately 3 months and is not eligible for benefits such as paid time off, holiday pay, medical, etc.
Essential Functions:
Creates a welcoming environment for on-site visitors, determines nature of business, and connects visitors to appropriate personnel.
Answers incoming telephone calls on multi-line telephone system, determines purpose of callers, and forwards calls to appropriate personnel or department.
Takes and delivers messages or transfers calls to voice mail when appropriate personnel are unavailable.
Answers questions about organization and provides callers with address, directions, and other information.
Assists with visitor access and issues passes when required.
Maintains strict confidentiality of all correspondence and information.
Performs other clerical duties as needed, such as filing, photocopying, and collating.
Maintains a professional workspace and assists in ensuring lobby spaces are clean and presentable.
Other duties may be assigned.
Directs clients to receptionist for cash or credit card payments/donations. This position does not handle cash or credit card payments.
QualificationsQualifications:
High school diploma or GED required.
At least 1 year of experience with customer service, reception, or office support preferably in a non-profit or community-focused environment.
Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with modern office tools and systems is a plus.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent attention to detail with a high level of accuracy and ability to meet deadlines.
Ability to work independently with minimum supervision and manage time effectively.
Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
Orientation to detail, accuracy, and the meeting of deadlines.
Ability to collaborate effectively with Food Bank staff and volunteers.
Professional and compassionate demeanor with the ability to adapt in a fast-paced or changing environment.

Work Environment
This job is performed in an indoor office environment and occasionally may require attendance at outdoor events. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
