GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Provides coverage for the North Carolina Collection (NCC), the special collections department of Durham County Library.
Work is performed independently under the supervision of the North Carolina Collection Manager. Provide relief and emergency coverage at all Durham County Library locations.
Must be available for weekend rotations (Saturdays and Sundays) and for holiday coverage. This position is expected to work at least 20 hours per week.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, and weekends and have reliable transportation.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
Requires a master's degree in library science from an ALA accredited library school.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
North Carolina local history knowledge preferred as well as experience in archives or special collections.
