WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

In our APD/EFL Environmental Fate and Structure Elucidation unit, we conduct regulatory studies to ensure the safety of our products for consumers, the environment, and wildlife. A key part of our work is the structural elucidation of degradation products and production-related by-products. To determine chemical structures, we utilize state-of-the-art analytical techniques, particularly in the fields of mass spectrometry and NMR. We are looking for a new team member to support us on a fixed-term basis for 12 months with the possibility of an extension for a further 12 months.
  • In this role, you independently operate and maintain analytical instruments in the areas of LC-MS and NMR. You also perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on these instruments.
  • You develop and optimize analytical methods with a focus on chromatography and mass spectrometry.
  • Your expertise is essential in evaluating measurement data using specialized software and interpreting results to address complex analytical questions.
  • Together with your colleagues, you conduct GLP and non-GLP studies for the structural elucidation of crop protection products and their degradation products.
  • You are responsible for the evaluation, documentation, and management of analytical data, preparing reports, coordinating outsourced analyses, and providing scientific customer support as part of GLP-compliant data generation.

WHAT YOU OFFER

  • completed vocational training as a Chemical Laboratory Technician or a comparable qualification
  • at least four years of professional experience in mass spectrometry, structural elucidation, or a comparable analytical environment
  • solid knowledge of mass spectrometry and experience working in a GLP-regulated environment.
  • experience and knowledge in high-resolution mass spectrometry (HRMS) and NMR are an advantage
  • very good German and good English language skills, as well as proficiency in common IT applications and databases
  • strong communication skills, a collaborative mindset, and a structured, detail-oriented approach to work
