Temporary Groundskeeper

You have been selected for the position of Temporary Groundskeeper in the Office of Physical Plant at Xavier University. This position is not publicly posted and is available exclusively through the private application portal.

Responsibilities includes but not limited to:

• With appropriate personal protective equipment, the Temporary Groundskeeper will operate hand and power tools to cut, trim, edge grass, turf, prunes trees and shrubs, trim hedges, mulches, pulls weeds, and applies chemicals.
• Maintain athletic fields by dragging, laying out, lining and painting.
• Keep university grounds clean (e.g., pick up papers and other debris; operates a variety of equipment to clean sidewalks, steps, patios, and parking lots when necessary).
• Follow all established safety procedures.
• Work outside in all-weather condition; work with potentially dangerous equipment and chemicals; exposed to dirt, dust, fumes, noise, and elements.

This position is capped at 1000 hours. If in good standing, the employee will be able to return the following season and/or apply for open Xavier positions.
