Paladin Security is Hiring a Field Support Unit Security Guard!

Location: Kingston, Campbellford, Cobourg & Port Hope, ON
Schedule: Continental Bi-Weekly Rotation (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM / 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Pay Rate: $18.35/hour
Employment Type: Temporary Full-Time
Overtime Method: Averaging Agreement (Overtime after 88 hours)

No Security License? No Problem.

Candidates who do not currently possess an Ontario Security Guard License and/or First Aid & CPR certification are encouraged to apply. Successful candidates will be provided approximately 3–4 weeks to obtain the required certifications before beginning site training and deployment.

Paladin Security is seeking a dependable and professional Temporary Full-Time Field Support Unit (FSU) Security Guard to support multiple client sites throughout Campbellford, Cobourg, and Port Hope.

The Field Support Unit works closely with Operations and provides coverage where needed across the Kingston Branch. This role requires flexibility, strong customer service skills, and the ability to respond effectively to emergencies, incidents, and changing operational needs.

Candidates must possess a reliable personal vehicle and be comfortable traveling between sites as directed by management.

Responsibilities

• Provide security coverage across multiple client sites as assigned.
• Conduct proactive and reactive patrols to maintain site safety and security.
• Respond to fire alarms, medical emergencies, and security incidents.
• Deliver exceptional customer service to staff, visitors, patients, and members of the public.
• Provide assistance to individuals experiencing stress, conflict, or medical concerns.
• Apply Use of Force techniques or restraints when required and authorized.
• Provide security escorts and motor vehicle assistance.
• Maintain accurate logs, reports, and incident documentation.
• Monitor access control points and verify authorized entry.
• Enforce site policies and procedures.
• Identify and report suspicious activity, hazards, and security concerns.
• Monitor surveillance systems and security equipment.
• Coordinate with law enforcement, emergency responders, and other authorities as required.
• Complete additional duties as assigned.

Licensing & Training Pathway

Applicants who do not currently hold an Ontario Security Guard License and/or First Aid & CPR certification are encouraged to apply.

Successful candidates will be provided approximately 3–4 weeks to obtain required certifications before commencing site training.

Applicants who do not currently possess Use of Force (UoF) and Management of Aggressive Behaviour (MOAB) certifications may enroll in Paladin Security's training program before onboarding.

Please note:

• Training is a prerequisite and unpaid.
• Paladin Security covers all UoF and MOAB training costs.
• A minimum six-month commitment to the position and availability is required.

Requirements

Must Have

• Legally authorized to work in Canada.
• Valid Ontario G2 or G Driver's License.
• Reliable personal vehicle available for work-related travel.
• Fluent in English (written and verbal).
• Ability to meet N95 Mask Fit Test requirements (must be clean-shaven).
• Proof of at least two COVID-19 vaccine doses.
• Ability to obtain and maintain all healthcare site clearance requirements, including:
• Measles
• Mumps
• Rubella
• Varicella
• TB Skin Test (Stages 1 & 2)
• Willingness and ability to obtain an Ontario Security Guard License and First Aid & CPR Level C certification if not currently certified.

Nice to Have

• Current Ontario Security Guard License.
• Current First Aid & CPR Level C certification from a WSIB-approved provider.
• Previous healthcare, security, or public-facing customer service experience.
• Experience responding to emergency incidents.
• Experience writing detailed incident reports.
• Experience working in multiple-site or mobile security environments.
