In 1971, Yale University became one of the first universities in the U.S. to provide healthcare services to its faculty, staff, and students. Most care and services are provided in our state-of-the-art, facility, with modern exam rooms, an Acute Care, an inpatient facility, a diagnostic imaging suite, and a full-service retail pharmacy.
As a member of the Diagnostic Imaging Team, assist in providing coordinated and compassionate care at every patient encounter at Yale Health. Responsibilities include performing specialized testing procedures appropriate to specialty in radiology. Set up, operate and maintain testing equipment. Process exams and duplicate films, both hard and soft (PACS)copies. Instruct and act as a source of information on testing techniques, procedures and equipment operation. Assist patients when necessary to dress/undress for exams, or in transfers to/from wheelchair, stretcher, exam tables, etc. Assist in radiology exams as directed by the radiologist. Maintain patient confidentiality. Assist management in upgrading equipment. Assist in budget development. Act as liaison with repair personnel. Order and maintain inventory of supplies. Maintain disposal inventory per department protocol. Cover the clinical reception desk as needed. Perform additional functions related to clinical and clerical activities as needed.
Required Skills and Abilities
1. Proficiency with CT scanners, PACS, and radiology information systems (RIS).
2. Demonstrated skill in applying techniques of radiology in a safe and reliable manner, adhering to required protocols.
3. Proficient peripheral IV skills: insertion, monitoring, infiltration recognition and treatment, and removal.
4. Highly motivated, articulate team player with excellent independent judgment abilities, organizational and follow-through skills.
5. Outstanding interpersonal skills with an emphasis on customer service and the ability to develop positive working relationships.
6. Ability to coordinate multiple tasks in a fast-paced clinical setting with a calm and pleasant personality.
7. Well-developed communication skills with the ability to initiate and foster effective and appropriate communication among staff.
8. Must be flexible and willing to learn new procedures and processes. Exemplary attendance and punctuality Professional demeanor.
9. Ability to respond effectively and appropriately when dealing with difficult situations with well-developed critical thinking skills.
Preferred Skills and Abilities
Connecticut State Radiographer licensure and Certification in CT technology.
ARRT certification in Radiography (R) and Computed Tomography (CT) required

Required Education and Experience
Six years of related experience; four of them in the same job family at the next lower level and a high school level education; or four years of related work experience and an Associate’s Degree; or little or no work experience and a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field; or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
